The development of the mobile money services permits the businesses and the individuals to get access to the financial services and become part of the financial system. Access to the financial system is a key drive to business growth and entrepreneurial development in Somalia and in many parts of the world. The purpose of this study was to examine the contribution of the mobile money services to the growth of the small and the medium sized enterprises in Somalia. We applied dynamic capability theory to examine the factors that affect the business growth. This study employed cross sectional research design and used quantitative techniques to analyze the data of the study. The target population of the study was business owners that are in major cities in Somalia. A sample of 138 business categorized by trade, services and manufactures were studied. Descriptive and the inferential statistics were used to analyze the cross-section data collected from the various respondents. For regression analysis, Robust Least Squares (ROBUSTLS), is used to estimate the model parameters of the study. We rejected null hypothesis examined by this study and we found that all variables have a positive contribution that is different from zero and being statistically significant. The result shows that a one percent increase of the access to finance contributes to business grow of about (0.186%) while a (1%) increase sales growth, leads business to grow about (0.183%). The enhancement of the risk management by (1%) increases business grows to about (0.225%). The product development is a dominant variable that leads to business growth as (1%) increase of the product development, leads business to grow about (0.254%). This study was focused on the impacts of firm heterogeneity and political risks of destination countries on China’s OFDI firms. A sample of 538 Chinese manufacturing firms investing in ASEAN countries are investigated from year 2005 to year 2013. Factors indicating firm heterogeneity as total assets, sectors of investment, location, operating experience, OFDI experience and export status are applied, while factors as political stability and government effectiveness of destination countries are applied, and economic environment as openness, market size, level of affluence of residents and labor size of destination countries are used as control variables. Findings show that assets level is an important factor for OFDI firms’ performance, and China’s OFDI firms investing in ASEAN countries have presented a risk preference....
This paper aims at evaluating the major determinants of access to credit and their impact on the sustainability of SMEs in Cameroon using the 2016 World Bank enterprise survey. The probit model and linear regression model were used and the results show that collateral security, experience, interest rates, corruption and size of loan are the major determinants of access to credit and access to credit has a positive impact on the sustainability of SMEs in Cameroon. From the results, we can recommend the government to formulate an entrepreneurship strategy that will enable the SMEs to have financial access....

The direct and indirect impacts of natural disasters are devastating to business activities and their continuity. These catastrophic events have created a significant impact on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the Bangladesh during the recent years. SME sectors can be considered as the highly vulnerable sections of Bangladesh economy which impacted drastically by the flooding as they are relatively resource constrained and less resilient. Having a sound understanding of the adverse impacts of flooding on SMEs might useful for entrepreneurial resilience. This study sought to investigate the full range of impacts (short term and long term) experienced by SMEs located in coastal region of Bangladesh following floods, cyclone, river bank erosion, saline water intrusion and earthquake. Three hundred and fifty respondents selected affected SMEs from coastal region. Semi structured interviews were carried out in person with the business owners in order to identify their experiences on various types of damages, rehabilitation and re-establishment.
